Nurin's & Embah Agung's Birthday Bash!

Nurin is 11 on the 13th August 2007. Her great grandfather, who is my grandfather celebrates his 87th year on 21st August. Since my grandfather came all the way from Alor Setar on 20th August, and 13th August was a school day, we celebrated both birthdays on 21st August.

Nurin had the whole Tuesday all to herself and friends. Since it was a working day, parents got to send their children before they headed for work, and fetched them after office hours. I baked a White Sheet Cake, a recipe taken from Martha Stewart (no yolks used!) and bought an edible image of Nurin from LoveLiana. Below is the cake.. There were ooohhhsss and aaahhhss from Nurin's friends when they saw the cake.

Meanwhile, Embah Agung's event started after Maghrib prayers where relatives all around Klang Valley gathered at my house.. mmm.. around 80 of them.. Mama Chak Jedi baked this Toffee Banana Cake.. and it was so yummeh! Guests were delighted to leave the house with a special door gift....
