A Wedding Gift from the Bride

Zariah ordered this as a present for the bride to give away to the groom. I didn't count the white ribbon sugar rose, as I wanted the top tier to look elegant.This was a 1.5 recipe stack heart butter cake with buttercream icing.See here for different angle pics.

Special Choc Project for a very special dad.

Diana and I discussed this special choc cake project for her dad. En. Sabdon has six children, and we've decided to create choc candy hearts with all six nick names written on them, including Mak and Abah. This is a one and a half stacked choc moist cake. I hope this design looks manly enough heh heh.. I received remark from a friend that most of my creations are either for kids or girlish. hehe...

Nurin's & Embah Agung's Birthday Bash!

Nurin is 11 on the 13th August 2007. Her great grandfather, who is my grandfather celebrates his 87th year on 21st August. Since my grandfather came all the way from Alor Setar on 20th August, and 13th August was a school day, we celebrated both birthdays on 21st August.

Nurin had the whole Tuesday all to herself and friends. Since it was a working day, parents got to send their children before they headed for work, and fetched them after office hours. I baked a White Sheet Cake, a recipe taken from Martha Stewart (no yolks used!) and bought an edible image of Nurin from LoveLiana. Below is the cake.. There were ooohhhsss and aaahhhss from Nurin's friends when they saw the cake.

Meanwhile, Embah Agung's event started after Maghrib prayers where relatives all around Klang Valley gathered at my house.. mmm.. around 80 of them.. Mama Chak Jedi baked this Toffee Banana Cake.. and it was so yummeh! Guests were delighted to leave the house with a special door gift....

PJ Vipers Rocks!

Nurin, Sara, Lee Ann and Celine, at this very moment is rehearsing hard for tomorrow's audition for High School Musical - My School Rocks!. All of them are sleeping over at Sara's so that they can be early for the audition.

Their group is named PJ Vipers.

I thank Sara's mom for also choreographing the dance and sending the girls to the audition tomorrow. Nice of her!

Melilea Organic on Carrot Cake?

When I asked Ateh how she wanted me to decorate the Carrot Cake for Abg. Nan, my options were fishing and golf. But, she chose the Melilea bottle! Heh! So, here is the Melilea big bottle on Carrot Cake.

I am happy to meet Aleya Natasha's parents on Friday night. Little Tasha is celebrating her 3rd birthday on Saturday, August 11. The theme for the birthday bash was pink Barbie, hence the Standing Barbie in pink! I apologize to Zarina to have misspelled Tasha's name. It should be H instead of Y! Thousand apologies! (Nak buat post ni baru sedar. I must have confused it with the Y at Aleya, then again... my fault)

Nevertheless, Happy Birthday Aleya Natasha! Have a smashing one!

Congratulations Kartini & Haszamail!

Mama Chak's Chef was honoured to be apart of Kartini & Haszamail's wedding, even if I was given a one week notice to pull this together! The theme was pink and light purple. All 100 guests received a pink and purple buttercream swirled and sprinkled cupcake in a gift box with a pink or purple ribbon. The 'hantaran' was also a set of cupcakes with Mama Chak Chef's own sugar white ribbon rose and H and K initials on a pink or purple buttercream. I did not tie a ribbon onto the hantaran box, since Kartini is lucky to have many creative aunties to do the job for her, so as to standardise the ribbon together with the rest of the gifts. The wedding cake was a 2-tier chocolate moist and butter cake with white buttercream frosting, decorated with pink gum-paste roses. I could not find any purple roses at the nearby bakery supplies. I promise that I'll enroll myself to the gum-paste class so that I could get whatever colour I want and whatever flower I want next time. I also had a taste of a full time business owner for this project. Phew!
