Back in full speed!

Sorry sangat2 sebab tak sempat nak update blog. So many things have happened.. Dengan yang ambil PMR nya, dengan yang balik kampung sampai 5 bulan nya, dengan minor renovation to the house nya.. dengan mr hubby's policy : "No maid, no bake" nya.. Apa nak dikata.

Alhamdulillah, everything falls back in place in October. Juriah arrived on 9/10 and Nurin's exam finished on 11/10. Terus I accept orders you! Rasa rindu tak terkira dengar bunyi mixer yang bingit itu. Hehehe..

Anyways, this is a short post to say I'm baking again. I've actually accepted orders last month, but I didn't have the time to update my blog.

New flavors: Red Velvet, Oreo, Coffee (perfected), Rainbow (takla new kan? This is so last year,.. Iskandar dah nak celebrate again his birthday next month.)

New designs: Stack cakes, Castle cakes.

New Pictures: dah lama tak snap guna my dslr. Asyik guna phone aje, and terus upload to my personal facebook. Nanti I upload dalam Mama Chak's Recipe Facebook ya. Dah lama juga tak masukkan dalam flickr. Entah laku lagi ke tak account itu.. Note to self: check flickr account.

New pricing and Upgraded ingredients.. Don't worry, still affordable. Tersangat affordable. :-)

As you can see in my FYI box, sudah sendat for this weekend. But do text juga, sbb kadang2 boleh selit2 lagi for adhoc parties gitu. May not be able to answer phone calls.

This Is It

This is it everyone! It's time.. Time to reduce the number of cakes to bake.. Effective March, I shall limit the number of orders per day to 2 customers only... Good news is that I can still accept if you need cupcakes for door gifts up to 250pcs or a 3-tier wedding cake. I think, in April kot baru start 2 cakes per day.. So, if you are interested to order, please, please, please place your orders the soonest possible time to avoid dissapointment, and do not be angry with me, as I am only human with a big tummy. And I have started taking orders for April too. I am due, insyaAllah in May ... err end May kot..

Btw, as mentioned earlier, I collect all edible images every Wednesday, so pls place your orders for edible images at least before Monday, or better still, the sooner the better.. Like a customer once said to me - you can never change a birthday.. so order early to avoid dissapointment and again jangan la marah I if you missed the boat..

I am still unsure of my pace in making gum paste flowers yet.. last week, I main belasah aje accepted orders for homemade flowers.. nak dekat 50 kuntum kot.. Hari2 buat from 8am till 2pm.. Break at 10am.. siap ada jadual waktu.. and panic unnecessarily sbb takut tak sempat siap.. So, I rasa if you like the homemade flowers for your hantaran or you have a special color like lavendar, or lilac (instead of purple), pls place your orders at least 2 weeks earlier.. so I can make them dengan tenang.. I love the red and pink roses the most..

I had to mix this with some store bought flowers.. My stock for store bought flowers pun dah berkurangan.. Have to replenish them because the cheapest hantaran is the one using the store bought flowers..(in case you're on budget) :-) The price for homemade flowers is of course slightly higher, but still affordable..

and the lavendar.. oooh.. susahnya nak dapat warnanya.. tu, second attempt on the colors.. sekali nampak macam lilac, sekali nampak macam lavendar.. the advantage of homemade flowers is that you can almost get whatever color you want compared to store-bought flowers.. which is purple, tak de nya dia nak layan lavendar or lilac.. LOL..

And gambar yang enter frame this time is this shocking pink heart shaped requested by Mummy Eleen.. The theme was pink and black.. Well, I had to ask her permission to use shocking pink (since it goes very well with black - compared to pastel pink).. and she agreed..

Upin & Ipin

Budak2 memang suka Upin & Ipin... I jarang tengok this local animated tv program. Honestly, I jarang tengok TV nowadays.. I do have my favourite tv series though, but I watch them on DVD, like Heroes, Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives.. So, if ever hubby had to go to JB for work, I would text him a list of tv-series and movies that we would like to watch... and siapla lepas tu.. marathon la kami.. A good thing about it is that, I am not tied up every Wednesday or Tuesday to watch.. Bad thing about it.. errr... why think of the bad thing? :-D Anyways, I (not my kids) was introduced to Upin and Ipin on one of hubby's business trip to JB.. and cerita ni memang kelakar.. betul betul betul.. Semoga industri animasi negara bertambah maju..

Mix and Match Barbie Pegasus

For Elysa's 3rd birthday celebration, Juliana ordered the Mix and Match set, with Barbie's edible image on the cake. Kebetulan, I had a few edible images orders that week, so I got Arie to help me print the Barbie in 2" cupcakes size on the rest of the edible images empty spaces. So, dapatlah Elysa Barbie Pegasus images on cupcakes for free.. :-)

Hotwheels for Afiq and Tok Bak

Iskandar suka gila Hotwheels.. mana taknya, cik abang gue tu, pantang nampak Hotwheels mesti nak beli kat Iskandar.. mentang-mentanglah he is our only boy (for now).. And I notice that Iskandar has a habit to bring along at least 1 toy with him everytime he goes out... even just for a short trip to fetch his sister from school.

When Mimi texted that she wanted a Hotwheels for Afiq, I got her to send me the pix. Ada macam2 hotwheels kan... anyways... last2 sekali I yang pilih the pix as the pix she sent tak cukup size. Alhamdulillah for Mimi's faith in me. Thank you sister! FYI, min size for edible print requested by Arie is 300KB or more than 1000 pixels in order to get a good quality print. Standing Barbie in green and White Gown

Whenever there is a request for a Standing Barbie, I would usually get Mama Charq Jedi to do them, despite the fact I had attended a class with Mr Hau.. Mr Hau bukannya pakai Barbie, but doll... Doll yang main pacak jer.. so senang lah... (senang pun tak senang lah kan... senang cakap). And kaki Barbie kan panjang, so we need to bake 2.5kg butter cake or 2 kg choc moist, so that the cake covers up till the waist.

However, in the month of Ramadhan, Mama Charq Jedi is busy making Benji, and does not entertain character cakes. So, she gave me her tins(as usual... I selalu pinjam stuffs ngan Mama Charq aje, God Bless Mama Charq), and some pointers on how to stick the Barbie in.. She told me that she would come to help me stick the Barbie once I have decorated the skirt..

Tapi, I punya la malu ngan Mama Charq sbb my work was not as supperb as hers, so, I stucked the Barbie myself... (malu kat cikgu!). And here is the outcome of my first Standing Barbie cake.. And now, I look forward to do another one next week... Macam ketagih pulak... plus the fact that I can undress, twist and turn the Barbie around, I so like!

This green and white Barbie along with Disney Princess mocha cupcakes were sent to Kak Nisa's niece who is staying in Kota Damansara. Seriously, Kak Nisa, is a role model to me.. She would make a point to send cakes and cards to her beloved ones on their birthday or any special day no matter where she is.. Ooh... I heard she is back in KL now with a little one in the tummy! Isk isk... Intan sent me an email with pics of J0e J0nas.. She told me that her daughter Alia, had a huge crush on him...She wanted to surprise her daughter with J0e J0nas on her birthday cake.. Hahahaha... Lawak gila Intan! Intan is a cool mom indeed! Hi five sister! I pun mengarah Nurin cari J0e J0nas's signature, konon2 dia la sign atas cake ni... ala2 autograph la gitu. kih kih kih.. Thanks darling Intan.. Sorry you had to witness the mess at my temp kitchen the other day.. LOL!

Adila Husna's Disney Princess

Wannie and I used to like the same guy when we were in high school... LOL! And I remember that guy used to tell me that Wannie's handwriting was the prettiest he had ever seen, while mine was ugly.. it still is ugly.. LOL. I'm not sure if Wannie's handwriting is still the prettiest... as she is now a doctor... an anaesthetist to be exact.. (proud of you dear!)... Well, Wannie is now married with the hottest guy in her uni way back then... I married the hottest guy in my uni too (heh heh)... dunno what happen to that guy we liked... LOL!... and we are now blessed with everything God has given us..... And for her eldest daughter's birthday, she ordered this disney princess cake... To Adila Husna, Happy Birthday dear!

Ben10's watch

Without the watch, Ben10 can't save the world! I just knew that! Thanks to Kartina, I had browsed the net to see how Ben10's watch looks like (I don't subscribe to the Cartoon Channel, that's why!). And I have implemented the watch on these two sets.. You can have them as the centerpiece... and also on the cupcakes.. whichever you like... and then today, I was decorating Ben10's watch on mini cuppies for Nora, when Dania told me that I'm out of one green dot.. Ceh! I thought I could do without that extra dot... but Dania claimed that it is the most important dot! Nasib Dania nampak.. but for these two, sorry eh.. takde 'important' dot.. and I tak sempat snap the one with the 'important' dot tadi. :-p

Big Apple and Nuinfra

Congratulations Nuinfra on the launch of the Big Apple outlet at the SACC! I am a big fan of Big Apple.. Seriously! I just can't go there.. or I'll buy lots of them... In fact today, we just had 'em doughnuts for tea! and I am still craving for more! and thanks to Lyana for handling this order. It was a pleasure working with you dear!

Asyraaf's Power Rangers

Asyaaf had two cakes for his birthday, and both of them were Power Rangers!... and I understand from Kartina that he is the 'black one'... Happy Birthday Ashraaf!

Ben10 & Princess

These are half size cakes (8" round cakes) of Ben10 and Disney Princesses. (As usual, I snap gambar bila cake dah selamat masuk dalam kotak... :-p). Fiza ordered for her niece and nephew... Sweet, kan? Bertuah ada mak sedara macam Fiza! Since Ayu is now in Bangi, I got the edible images via courier service. So, it took at least 2 days for the images to reach me.

After I completed this job, Maizon called in and also wanted Ben10 and Princess... tapi, dah too late for Ayu to courier them, so Maizon settled with this Ben10 logo... :-D

And please, if you want to have edible images, please call early... Tak sempat I nak lari ke Bangi while also ferrying my kids to school. :-D

Ben10 lagi..

Truly, honestly, I have not watched Ben10, simply because we don't subscribe to the Cartoon channel... I ingatkan standing together the human Ben are his enemies.. Silly me! Rupanya he can turn into those characters ye... LOL! Thanks Serina for explaining to me.. hehehe.. I really enjoyed our chat.. Nanti kitchen baru I siap, kita boleh la goreng2 kuetiaw ker..apa ker... (as usual cita2 tinggi...)

and thanks to Ayu Loveliana, who printed me the Edible Image.. Now that Ayu has shifted to Bangi, I have to arrange a different way of collecting the edible images.. So, please call early if you are interested.. at least 1 week in advance..

Starscream, Disney Princesses, Elmo & Friends

Lawak sungguh when Suhita told me that her sons wanted the naughty Transformers, Starscream for their birthday! Selalunya, Optimus Prime ajer.. I was busy in the kitchen, so Nurin lah tukang browse cari gambar, since Ayu Loveliana pun tak de collection of the naughty decepticon.. :-)

And Suhita also ordered this for Danial's birthday.. Nak lukis yang simple2, katanya.. :-)

Yang ni, Aishah order.. Suka I sembang dengan adik Aishah, who came to collect the cake. Kisahnya, their parents attended Nadia's wedding, (Puan Abida's daughter), and brought back only 2 cupcakes. So, terpaksa la share2 makan... Tak cukup punya pasal, terus called me up and ordered some more.. Kebetulan ada birthday to be celebrated... :-) ..mmm... tak de occasion pun boleh order jugak. :-)

Nana ordered this cake for her parent's 39th Anniversary... Jenuh cari gambar ye Nana.. tee hee hee... I pun teruja tengok the edible image, sebab gambar zaman dolu2 kan... I so like the wonders of edible image... Something different, ye dok?

Shawqi is 6!

and another Ben10 added to my collection! I so love edible images... and I got it from Ayu or some know her as Loveliana. Check out her blogspot if you are a baker and looking for edible images, or if you want to learn on how to decorate cakes. I have witnessed Ayu teaching her students on some cake decorating technique (when I dropped by her house to collect the edible images) and I tell you, it was so fun! Some also have asked me if I teach...hehe.. not at the moment... :-) with Hannah around and Iskandar... adoi!

J0nas Brothers

I am so KZ (ketinggalan zaman) nowadays! Thank God that I am in this cake business. By decorating cakes for kids, I am still in the world of disney, and at the same time get to know the current teenage craze - the Jonas Brothers! Thank you Tengku Rozina!

On a different note.. I am glad Nurin and Dania are safely back home from their 10-days holiday. When they were not around, I was singing the tunes of Broery Marantika's Bulan Sabit apa ntah ajer... dah lepak ngan Mas aje kan..... I'm glad they are back to hip hop me again!

Sarah Alya's Disney Princess Cake

Sarah's dad, Zafrin was a colleague of mine at M3siniaga. He wanted me to bake Sarah's cake exactly as per the photo he forwarded to me. I'm glad to know a week later that Sarah was happy with the cake... and so was I! Thanks Zafrin! and Happy Birthday Sarah Alya!..

On a different note, Sarah was also one of the names in my head for Hannah... Mas Sarah Seroja.... best jugak, kan? and so was Elisa.. Mas Elisa Seroja.. tapi Elisa tu 3 sukukata la.. plus Mas tak nak letak nama Elisa sbb nama kawan dia.. kecoh sungguh :-p.. I pun ada kawan nama tu jugak.. :-p

Ben10 for Hazim Firdaus

Leen, Hazim's mom ordered Ben10 for Hazim's birthday. Dania was not around when I did this, else she would be elated... as per her words.. 'Ben10 tu boyfriend Dania dulu.. masa kita ada Cart0on Network'... I made the right decision to unsubscribe to that channel! *phew*.
